RFDS Radios

These can be supplied with the 737 network , 737 network and RFDS or as RFDS only, depending upon the type of license/usage. All radios also have Bush phone frequencies in them. All radios have similar capabilities but the aerial supplied may be slightly different.

737 network or RFDS licenses can be organised through us. (But we prefer that you do it yourself.) 737 is approx $90 a year. Because the vehicle and personal  details are recorded on their network ( so they know who/what to search for if necessary) you must get a license that goes for 12 months.

However you can join the Bush Telegraph network . Be sure you know your needs before contacting us.

RFDS licenses "outpost licenses" are about $30 a year but don't enable you to chat to other 4wd stations etc. They are basically for communicating with the RFDS. Note that the RFDS can also be contacted in an emergency  through the 737 network without an additional fee.

If you take out a 12 month membership to the 737 4wd network you will be allocated a call sign and selcall number. We will program your selcall number into the radio when it is booked.

All hires are supplied with aerial bases and brackets to fit a bull bar.

When you hire from us you're not just hiring a radio, it's all supplied.

How will I remember all this radio stuff when I'm in the bush?

Inside every hire radio box or satellite phone box we supply documentation that is explained at hire time. We encourage you to read this as you travel.

What documentation comes with the radios?
